I had a similar problem when rpm told me that I needed glibc 2.1, where I
had glibc 2.1.0. I've assumed that this was a minor version number
conflict. Are you sure that your shared libs are the right version?
I solved my problem by upgrading to the newest version of Red Hat. If you
don't already have RH6.2, perhaps you should consider doing that.
