Three foot *radius*? That is soooooo 80's satellite dish, dude. :=)
It's probably a very highly directional (18db), and they're probably
using a 6db omni.
But 75 feet of coax? Is it LMR-400? It's really thick stuff, about 1/2 inch.
You can improve your signal strength significantly with a better cable
if they're using straight-up RG-6 or RG-59 from a cable/satellite TV setup.
You'll get about 5db of loss in 75 feet of LMR-400. Should run you about
$50 and up, YMMV. For comparison, RG6 will get you 11.7db of loss. RG-59 has
14db and RG-58 has 18.6db.
