Plug-and-Play, eh?

Got a soundcard (a Creative Soundblaster 16WavEffects) working this
weekend; a real learning experience on kernel recompile.  The SuSE 6.0
manual further instructed on a pnpdump, and "you might have to rely on
trial and error."  The multiple choices of the isapnp.conf file from the
pnpdump were all visibly the Wrong Thing, and after a few hours trial
and error, I rm'd the isapnp.conf, went into bios, selected Plug-and-Play
*unaware* OS, not certain what would result...

The card worked immediately : )
