killing!
Is there a way to kill a process even more than kill -9?
I've got a tar that thinks it's still using the tape drive and won't give
it up. I just want to make it go away! <cry> The last thing it said
before it died was:
tar: Cannot write to /dev/st0: Input/output error
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
And now it's frozen. I think prolly the reason I'm having problems is
that it's got the device and doesn't want to let go. I don't really want
to have to reboot every time this happens.
On a related note, is there a better way of backing up to tape other than
just "tar cvf /dev/st0 /"? I've tried bru but I don't like it very much.
Tar works great when it works, but when it doesn't it doesn't. :)
