I used cbb (check book balancer) for a long time.  I really liked cbb - it
worked well and was completely stable on my slackware box.  I haven't
gotten around to building it on my suse machine yet (which tells you how
long it's been), because I'm waiting for a program that comes with a palm
pilot "sidekick", or can at least sync with something for the pilot.  Until
then, I don't wanna commit to any.

X-accountant wasn't as good, IMHO.  I just didn't like the interface.  I
only used it fofr a couple of days befdore I switched to cbb.  From looking
at the gnucash stuff, they appear to have fixed the interface, and the
program itself was pretty stable.  It was just ugly. :)
