additional ip addresses bound at boot

I see in teh /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 an ip is specified
to bind to eth0 at boot. To bind additional addresses to eth 0:1 and 0:2,
I would assume additional files would need to be created for each
subinterface respectively?
Its looks like teh ifup script looks for all interfaces within the
network-scripts directory. Am i close?
