Re: grub boot question
You'd want to edit your /etc/inittab, in my case "3" is desired:
# These are the default runlevels in Slackware:
# 0 = halt
# 1 = single user mode
# 2 = unused (but configured the same as runlevel 3)
# 3 = multiuser mode (default Slackware runlevel)
# 4 = X11 with KDM/GDM/XDM (session managers)
# 5 = unused (but configured the same as runlevel 3)
# 6 = reboot
# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)

I installed and set up my machine on 19' monitor at school, but now that I am back home I am trying to just use a monitor here at my house that is only 17". When I boot the machine, it runs fine in text mode but once it trys to boot into X the monitor goes black and is out of sync. How do I boot the system to just console mode, and not boot into X?
