Isn't that what this command (from
http://www.fedoralegacy.org/docs/apt-rh8.php) is supposed to fix?
# rpm -Fvh

\
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/8.0/legacy-utils/i386/rpm-4.1.1-1.8x.i386.rpm
\
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/8.0/legacy-utils/i386/rpm-build-4.1.1-1.8x.i386.rpm
\
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/redhat/8.0/legacy-utils/i386/rpm-devel-4.1.1-1.8x.i386.rpm

--Danny, who just blindly ran that before adding apt to his 8.0 box
(which is just a log aggregator) and therefore hopes that it fixes
something or at least makes the log box somehow a super log box ;)
