What's in a name?

Mandrake (the Linux OS) has been order to surrender their ISP addresses and stop
using the name "Mandrake" by "Mandrake The Magician", the comic strip, so-called
"owners".

Sad. How soon will I need to pay money in order to speak the name of that which
cannot be spoken (except when said license fees have been paid) to refer to
those big holes in my walls filled with transparent sheets of silica?

Perhaps a letter writing campaign to ask your newspaper to drop any Hearst
Holdings and King Features Syndicate comic strips they carry, especially 
"Mandrake the Magician". I believe the STL P-D is conducing a poll on that topic
right now.
