I’m having a problem with my video on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop. Everything works fine from the gui point of view. When I switch consoles ctrl alt f(1-6) the display becomes 640x480. I looked in XF86Config and everything appears to be right. I tried google but I’m not entering the right search string, finding a lot on X but not for this problem. Can someone point me in the right direction for fixing this problem?
