I've come to quote any regex I use on the command line, it will save you
time and headache, which allows you to make more room for other things
to cause your head to ache like dealing with users that need beat with a
LART stick, anyway just my .00416 pounds

not expecting. my syntax is
grep -e \.ico logfile
which i would expect to match
default.ico
however not
/icons/
it does seem to be returning both however as though the . were not being
escaped. is my syntax off?
