multiple packages

So, how do I get 2 gd rpms installed at the same time?  Would the
"--noscripts" or "--notriggers" options to rpm keep it from removing
the files associated with an old rpm?  I really just need the old
library, which I'm currently just copying to /tmp, upgrading, and
copying back - but in the future this might be useful to know...
