Re: SSH and KDE
Steve,
Just one quick question....
I downloaded VNC. I am new to Linux, so maybe you can point me in the right
direction. I can see that the scripts I downloaded are in Perl, but when I
go to the HOME browser (mandrake) They are unknown file types.
I would expect these scripts to execute just as the bash scripts execute.
but when I try to execute them, there is no file association, so Mandrake
asks what program I want to run them in. I checked the installation CD and
there are several PERL RPM's that I could install. I tried the first one,
but components of it were already installed. I figured that if I install the
correct RPM from the core cd, it would work, but this could be a gross
conceptual error.
I am going to try it over the LAN for starters, because I know that both
machines on the LAN can communicate with each other, both the server and the
client.
I could be wrong, but I think it is just an association problem, but I dont
know what program or terminal to associate the vnc files with. I have been
working with this all morning, and am starting to realize that I am just
smart enough now to realize how dumb I am Hah.... Thanks,
Ricky
