Thanks, Mr. Pritchard,

Your help is very valuable.  I am running Mandrake on a Toshiba 1755 laptop 
and it is running perfectly.  The only thing it did not recognize by itself 
was the Lucent Tech. LT winmodem, which I had to download a driver for at 
linmodems.org, and it is running perfectly also.  My goal is to have complete 
control of my Red Hat machine at home while I am on the road.
