In summary, after years of telling everyone the truth & getting sh*t on, I
have learned that there's a better way of doing things.

Sure, if you ALWAYS lie about EVERYTHING, you'll smear yourself beyond
repair.

But, the "dark masses" of users want someone to show them the way, just as
politicians so deftly guide the populaces of the world. There may be no
justice, but so long as the man on the street BELIEVES there is, you'll
have no riots. And if your users believe in you as a SysAdmin, then all is
well.

As every successful commander has always known, the key to victory is to
win the hearts & minds of your people.
