Netscape supports png's fairly well, except for transparency, out of the
box. If yours isn't working, look under navigator->applications in the
preferences dialog. The file type is "PNG Image", the mime is image/png.
There shouldn't be an external application specified for that type.
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/pngapps.html has a list o' apps, but I'm not
sure how current it is...
http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/pngsuite.html might be a good place to see if
your browser is supporting pngs properly... BTW, Konqueror works quite
well in that respect (and in most other respects). If they'd just port it
to windows and make everyone use it instead of IE or Netscape now... :)
