pine using ssl to connect to remote server

anyone had experience using pine configured to access a remote server via
ssl to grab an inbox?
i've seen configs where:

inbox-path               = 

in the pine config was set to something like:

{remote.server.lunarmedia.net}INBOX

i think the config i saw was connecting to the remote machine via SSL to
IMAP or something like that.
