RE: problems with fgi
Are you using the cable modem service??
If so, you only can connect to the net via their NT proxy server...
If no, then maybe they are implementing the NT proxy for ALL the users,
dialup included. Since you dont have an NT/98 login via Windows Networking,
you wouldnt be able to get out...I am just guessing from what little of this
issue I have read...

Subject: problems with fgi
just an update,
talked to fgi's tech support today
They claim i'm not logged in when i connect, even though i get an ip address
and they can ping my machine.
something i noted in the /var/log/messages today that never showed up
before. when connecting to fgi or to gte i get many messages concerning sl0
Feb 14 10:05:37 localhost diald[1599]: start sl0: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid
argument
<normal connect stuff>
Feb 14 10:06:03 localhost pppd[1631]: Serial line is looped back.
Feb 14 10:06:03 localhost pppd[1631]: Connection terminated.
Feb 14 10:06:03 localhost pppd[1631]: Exit.
Feb 14 10:06:03 localhost diald[1599]: start sl0: RTNETLINK answers: Invalid
argument
Feb 14 10:06:03 localhost diald[1599]: stop ppp0: RTNETLINK answers: No such
process
I also noted that now when I type ifconfig with RH 6.0 and 6.1 theres no
entry for sl0 like there used to be when i connect with diald.
any clues??
Leon
