Re: Linux Demo Day UPDATE
I'm with Jason on this. We need to keep it simple. I'm not even
stuck on showing the Netwinder... The only reason I think it would be
a good addition is that it's a lower-end box, and it's small and cute
enough that it gets attention. A Mac would be a much better addition,
since they are essentially consumer-oriented systems. (Both should be
OK, but given the choice of one or the other, I'd say go with the Mac
if we can find one, definitely.)
Again, I've got the Intellistation, and Stephan seemed to think he
could get us another one for Demo Day if we want it. Plus, of course,
I think my machine (running Quake [123]) with its Voodoo 3 3000 would
be a good addition. (Enough of the hardware in it either came from
Best Buy or is available at Best Buy that it is practically a Best Buy
ad anyway... :-)
I think the big things we need to do are a) have plenty of people on
hand to explain what we're demonstrating and answering questions, and
b) have some good stuff to hand out (info sheets, CDs, whatever).
