what is up?

Just recently i took a Mandrake box, and put turbo on it, as an upgrade.
Once i did so, kde can't start up on boot, but only after startx is
issued.

On boot, i get 

INIT: cannot execute "/usr/bin/X11/launch_xdm"
INIT: id "x" respawning too fast: disable for 5 minutes

Well, there *isnt* a launch_xdm anywhere on the box now that it is for all
intensive purposes a turbo box. I am assuming that xdm is a kde thing?
