Well, I can say that my Yamaha CRW-4260 works great in Windows and
Linux.  Though I don't think I've ever tried to burn a rewritable CD in
Linux.  I know my CDROMs can read RW discs though.  And it can make
discs with Rock Ridge extensions for Redhat CDs.
