I hate to use outlook express, but the telnet session is just too darned slow...
:)  Anyway, there are some example themes at
http://home.clara.net/george.russell/kdescreenshots.html and
ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/unstable/apps/themes/ - according to the announcement
a couple of days on the kde-announce mailing list.  I was pleased to find that
they're all pretty small, making for a quick download on my modem... :)  There
have been 4 added since I checked last on Friday.  I think that's promising...

As far as the win 95 similarity, having a usable desktop and drag-n-drop support
is often pretty darned convenient, IMHO.
